Research Team on Dynamic Characteristics of Ship Special Equipment

The Research Team on Dynamic Characteristics of Ship Special Equipment (DCSSE) belongs to the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Harbin Engineering University, which is focused on the development of marine engineering equipment and emergency rescue equipment. The research interests include vibration and noise control of complex electromechanical systems, special testing equipment and reliability, ship emergency support technology and equipment, ship auxiliary machinery technology and equipment, etc. The team runs a successful system of production-teaching-research, which has conducted cohesive corporation with a series of institutions and enterprises. For example, the team has established the Harbin Engineering University (East China) fire technology Research and development center with East China Ship Machinery Manufacturing Co., LTD, Jingjiang.

The team currently consists of 2 professors, 1 associate professor, 1 lecturer and 50 postgraduate students including 16 PhD students, and has graduated more than 90 postgraduate students. The team undertakes undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and personnel training tasks. The team has undertaken 9 national research projects, more than 20 scientific research projects from industry, authorized more than 90 invention patents, published more than 60 refereed journal publications, and won 3 national and provincial scientific research awards.

Prof. Liu obtained PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Harbin Engineering University. He is currently a doctoral supervisor and undertaking a series of academic and industrial positions, including the expert of Science and Technology Economic Advisory Committee of Heilongjiang Provincial Government, member of the first Degree Evaluation Sub-committee of Harbin Engineering University, discipline leader in mechanical design and theory, permanent senior member of the Chinese Society of Forestry, vice chairman of the National Innovation Alliance of Forest and Grassland Fire Prevention Technology, member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the National Innovation Alliance for Forest and Grassland Fire Prevention and Control Technology.

Prof. Liu’s research interests encompass active vibration control based on smart materials, reliability technology, artificial intelligence search and rescue robots, computer control systems, fire technology and equipment etc. He has undertaken 9 national research projects, more than 20 scientific research projects from industry.

Prof. Liu has received numerous awards and fellowships over his career, including the young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions at the provincial and ministerial level, the Provincial and ministerial Youth Science and Technology Award, the third prize of Ministerial Science and Technology Progress, the second prize of Advanced Individual of Heilongjiang Province and the second prize of excellent supervisor of Harbin Engineering University.

Prof. Zhao obtained her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Harbin Engineering University. She is currently a doctoral supervisor and member of International Bionic Engineering Society, member of Heilongjiang Mechanical Engineering Society, graduate thesis review expert of Degree Center of Ministry of Education.

Prof. Zhao’ s research interests include mechanical and electrical product reliability design, mechanical equipment vibration and noise reduction, ship emergency support technology and equipment, ship auxiliary machinery technology and equipment, intelligent material vibration control, etc. She has conducted or participated in 8 national projects and more than 20 projects commissioned by enterprises.

Prof. Zhao has received many awards including the third prize of ministerial Science and Technology progress, advanced individual of Harbin Engineering University, excellent lecturer of Harbin Engineering University, etc.

Dr Liqiang Dong obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Science and Engineering, James Cook University in 2019. His research interests mainly include vibration and noise control, meta-material/meta-structure, jet flow, buoyancy-driven flows, fluid drag reduction and hydraulic noise control, etc. He has published more than 20 refereed journal publications, 5 refereed conference publications and 8 patents. Dr Dong is currently a lecturer and undertaking 3 fundings.
